Cher Song "Angels Running"
|
|
Cher in Movie "Silkwood" (1983). Presents song "Angels Running".
Well I heard enough
And Ive seen enough
And I now now enough to know
I know a good thing when I see it
And its a bad thing to let go
Well Ive been around
Ive been up and down
Until I bailed out of control
With your world all in motion
Gonna put a ball
And chain on your soul
[Chorus:]
All those angels running
Picking up the pieces
Putting back together hearts
Broke long ago
I know a good thing when I see it
And its a bad thing to let go
Well always be lovers
With borders of there own
And you may charge across
In a golden chariot
But you will never be at home
Cause I had dreams
Like distant thunder
I had hope like a prayer unheard
This nothing less than perfect
In a less than perfect world
[Chorus x2]

Chain of Command: Hadith Sciences
|
|
"Imagine...."
"Imagine a day. A day when all Hadith had been forgotten.
No recollection of tears shed in prayer, nor swollen feet.
No memory of Aishah, nor Anas nor Abu Hurayrah.
No knowledge of the actions of pilgrimage or prayer.
No mention of the Ummah that learned at the Prophets feet. Not its questions, not his answers, nor their toil. Blueprints for the future...forgotten and buried in the past. Thank Allah. For that dark day never came. True, there have been days of neglect and days of confusion. But the hadeeth never vanished. For the Hadeeth had its keepers. They were scholars who kept alive the authentic traditions of the Prophet, Sal Allaahu alayhi Wa Sallam. They were the Muhaddeeths, and Mustalah was their art. "

Shaykh Afasy surah Ikhlas in ten different styles
|
|
Shaykh Afasi recites Surat Al-Ikhla ten times, each using one of the ten recitation school recognized by Muslim scholars. Each of the ten recitation have isnad (narration chain) to the Prophet PBUH. In addition, these isnads come through twatur (i.e. it was related by so many trushworthy people down the isnad chain to the Prophet Muhammad PBUH.) The recitation differ in the vocalization of few words or letters. We should note here that all recitation follow the same Quranic rasm (letter for letter) but only the vocalization is different. «

Henry V, Kenneth Branagh,Agincourt 3,Non Nobis, and Te Deum
|
|
Henry V (1989) Kenneth Branagh, Non Nobis, and Te Deum
Non nobis, is a short Latin hymn used as a prayer of thanksgiving and expression of humility. The Latin text derives from Psalm 113:9 (according to the Vulgate numbering), which corresponds to Psalm 115:1 in the King James Version.
It reads...
Non nobis, Domine, non nobis,
[Not to us, Lord, not to us]
Sed nomini tuo da gloriam.
[But to Thy name give the glory]
This psalm celebrates the defeat of the Egyptian armies and Gods deliverance of Israel at the Red Sea.
Shakespeare, in his play Henry V, has the king proclaim the singing of both the Non nobis and Te Deum after the victory at Agincourt
Henry V was the most active dramatic experience Shakespeare ever presented.
In his 1989 film, Kenneth Branagh underlines the theatrical emphasis of this implicit stage direction. He extends the climax for several minutes by setting Patrick Doyles choral-symphonic rendition of the Non Nobis hymn behind a single tracking shot that follows Henry as he bears the dead body of a boy across the corpse- strewn field of Agincourt. The idea for this operatic device was supplied by Holinshed, who copied it from Halle, who got the story from a chain of traditions that originated in the event staged by the real King Henry in 1415.

What does the koran really say? Chapter 1
|
|
Using the Picktall translation, read by Abdul Bassit, Find out what the koran really says.
This is chapter 1. "The opening", It it is recited 5 times a day by muslims worldwide in the prayer.
I seek refuge from shayton (evil beings) the accursed
[Note: it is an order of Allah to seek refuge from shayton (evil beings) before reciting the koran.]
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful.
[Note: This is read at the beginning of every chapter. Among other things to distinguish each chapter. There is a difference of opinion whether "In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful." is a verse of the quran or not. I have taken the approach that it is not.]
The Quran ("Kor-Ann") is a Message from Allah to humanity. It was transmitted to us in a chain starting from the Almighty Himself (S.W.T.) to the angel Gabriel to the Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W.S.). This message was given to the Prophet (S.A.W.S.) in pieces over a period spanning approximately 23 years (610 CE to 622 CE). The Prophet (S.A.W.S.) was 40 years old when the Quran began to be revealed to him, and he was 63 when the revelation was completed. The language of the original message was Arabic, but it has been translated into many other languages.
