gig 2 was cancelled as 4 people turned up at the secret venue therefore
creating an audience and sadly, as it was a no audience gig, it had to be cancelled.
gig 3 is an altogether more fun loving affair than gig 1, consisting of 2 songs
and many a classic moment which has littered ewfs attitude to music and entertainment.

Je ne pensais jamais trouver un document vidéo sur le meilleur groupe niçois (français ?) de tous les temps...cest fait et jen suis ravi ! Un concert en 1985 de ce trio avec un ex-Moko à la basse et au chant, un ex-Bandits à la guitare et au chant et Fifi, lexcellent batteur des Playboys de lépoque (RIP).
Difficile de définir leur style : Garage ? Pop ? 60s ? rocknroll ? tout ça a la fois avec un côté Chilton, Thunders et Jonathan Richman & the Modern Lovers...entre autres...et un son et une attitude inimitable !

Hailing from the gussett of Dublin Moebius were conceived on the back of three groups, Blackdog, Stigma and The Experimentors, bringing something different to the Irish music scene. Combining the different influences of their previous bands respectively, a Led Zeppelin Tribute, an early nineties Punk/New Wave band and an Electronic act. The three Dubliners Mick, Paul and Keith have been together for just under a year and are producing tunes with tonnes of attitude and power, melding their individual influences, giving you everything and the kitchen sink.
Born as a result of the determination and passion of Keith and Paul they set up Laptar Music an Independent Label, collaborating with like minded artists The Street Urchins, The Underclass and Soller they have developed an original sound from influences such as Orbital, The Stone Roses, The Who and Kasabian to name but a few.
Moebius are currently busy putting the finishing touches to their next EP while honing their live sound for future gigs.

http://doninlondon.com My Fellows and Me. We in Alcoholics Anonymous, a fellowship of men and women who prefer not to drink a day at a time, have problems in the millions and solutions in the millions.
Millions of everyday problems and millions of everyday solutions. Its an attitude of mind. And of course we learn simply one day at a time to tackle the day as best we may making progress and not seeking perfection. After all, can we solve our whole life problems in a day? No we cannot and are as good at solutions as we learn by the day.
Not Perfect
If it were a perfect world life would be so much easier and we would need no fellowship to keep us on track a day at a time. Its more confusing than this because we all have our own stuff to deal with, and no prepared answers, its just as it may be today.
Choice A day at a Time
And of course we get our choices back in recovery, from being these crazy people who hide, live in denial a lot of the time, and then start to emerge and do things normal people do like be part of the community, endeavour to live as best we can, deal with our stuff and be kind, be open honest and willing to do the next right thing.

Jesus Would Have Never....

I have been reading alot about some of the major atrocities since Christ left and am surprised at how involved the Christian Religion was involved in many of them, such as the Crusades, The inquisitions, eliminating the native Indians, Slavery, and blocking civil rights in many instances. From what I gather, they dont know the meaning of what Jesus actually said. I still see traces of that type of hatred in the Church today. Some have a hard time loving people who are different than them. Lets get it right and discover the true meaning of loving one another.
So all I am saying, is if we claim to be a true Christian we need to act like one. The Church needs to ask themselves, so who are we denying civil rights to today and who are we bashing and beating upon still? Do we feel we really are of more worth then the next guy? Do we really feel we have all the answers? Are humans capable of the Christ Kind of love, or will there always be an animosity toward others because they were not created just like we were? This attitude is not a true Christian trait.

Hellion - Screams in the Night
|
|
Hellion is a heavy metal band, which was formed during 1982 in Los Angeles, California. The first line-up included Ann Boleyn (vocals), Ray Schenck (guitar), Sean Kelley (drums) and Peyton Tuthill (bass). With a different line-up they continue on today.
The band started as a cover group, covering songs by the likes of Ozzy Osbourne, The Scorpions and AC/DC. The groups first performances (or "Mega-Parties") were held at a locally famous haunted mansion in Tujunga, California which was occupied by Ann Boleyn. In late 1982 Hellion was approached by Mystic Records, a Hollywood-based punk label, who wanted to include "Nightmares in Daylight" on a compilation album. Several weeks prior to the recording session, Peyton Tuthill left the band, citing Ann Boleyns involvement in the occult arts as his reason. Tuthill has since become a minister. Bassist Rik Foxx (who was a founding member of W.A.S.P.) replaced Tuthill, however, quit several days before the bands first recording session after being offered a gig with Steeler (which then included Yngwie Malmsteen). At the last minute Brian West, who had played in Power Program with Ann Boleyn, was brought in for the recording session which took place on New Years Eve.
Several months later, after both Hellion and another female fronted metal band, Bitch, refused to sign full recording contracts with Mystic Records, the label decided to retaliate by including both bands on one single. Both the "Sound of Hollywood Girls" compilation album and the single are now considered valuable collectors items.
By 1983 Hellion had solidified their line-up with the addition of bassist Bill Sweet and a second lead-guitarist, Alan Barlam. In an attempt to gain a major label record contract the group entered Fiddlers Studio in Hollywood, California to record a demo. The band recorded the basic tracks in one evening between the hours of midnight and 07:00am and recorded the guitar solos, vocals, and mixed on the following night. The demo did not gain Hellion a major recording contract, but, fans demands for the demo surprised everyone. After destroying two separate cassette recorders while making copies of the demo, Hellion decided to press the recording onto vinyl and formed Bongus Lodus Records.
The self-titled 12" soon made its way onto the import charts in Kerrang!, Sounds and Aardschok magazines. As a result London-based record company, Music for Nations, offered the band a recording contract and gave the band money to record two more songs which were added to the earlier recording to make the Hellion Mini-LP. Tracks #2 through #5 are from that release. The Hellion Mini-LP was released in January 1984 and climbed to #6 on the UK rock charts in Kerrang! and Sounds magazine. The record was voted #2 EP of the Year by the journalists at Kerrang! magazine.
Despite Hellions success abroad, and later the assistance of Ronnie James Dio and managers Wendy Dio and Curt Lorraine, the band remained unsigned in America. In early 1985 Hellions male members decided to split from vocalist Ann Boleyn and formed a new group under the moniker "Burn." Ann, however, retaliated by gathering a new line-up including some of Southern Californias most respected musicians, reformed Hellion and also began her own record company, New Renaissance Records.
In 1986 the new Hellion released their first full length album, "Screams in the Night." The album gained substantial national and international radio airplay and the video, "Bad Attitude", was shown on MTV (both in the daytime and on Headbangers Ball), Sky Channel, and other music programs. In a similar sense to Mötley Crües Shout at the Devil-era and early W.A.S.P. the band played with elements of glam metal; taking influence from the likes of Black Sabbath and Alice Cooper.
However, by the end of the year, the new line-up began fighting about the bands musical direction and blamed Anns insistence in including occult themes as the reason for their failure to secure a major-label recording deal. About this same time Burn disbanded, leaving Ray Schenck, Alan Barlam and Sean Kelley without a band. Anxious to get back to work, Hellion entered The Record Plant in Los Angeles with their long-time friend Angelo Arcuri and recorded the "Postcards from the Asylum" Mini-LP "just for fun". At one point Hellions remake of the Judas Priest classic "Exciter" was listed on the play-lists of over 124 radio stations. Two months later, despite being over seven minutes long, "The Evil One" surpassed the earlier single, boasting listings on 128 U.S.stations.

J.J. Barnes - On Top Of The World

J.J. Barnes, the singer who I wrote about at fifteen years old, proclaiming him to be the greatest soul singer in the world. This is probably the best of all the twenty odd recordings I made on him for Motorcity Records. A joyous piece of classic soul with an attitude and optimism which epitomises everything I could ever want to cram into one three minute single. I wrote the song with Junior Giscombe, and J.J. recorded it in 1991, and I love it now more than ever. We shot the video in Morecambe while he was appearing at the Togetherness Soul Weekender, at the same time as we also shot the video for "Talk Of The Grapevine", during a windy wet October day in 2002. And still J.J. reigns supreme, and, although while at Motown, he always lived in Marvin Gayes footsteps, now nobody can hold a candle to him. And he still sings as wonderfully as he did when he was twenty years old. Can you imagine if only we could discover a new talent in his twenties, with a voice like this, these days ?? No chance !!! Nehemiah Skip James in my simplified interpretation. Strange what derives from a cheap pocket-camera, a cheap guitar an´ a two bit guitarist too; this rendition to Skip James is a lightyear from the original expression. Yet, to a happy amateur like me, it prevails great pleasure to try out anyway. Skip James, if interviewed on his opnion of other musicians, often said. "I never criticize a mans music". And that healthy attitude gives me a sort of consolation as regards my own performance-level. Does´nt all have to be so damn perfect, so - I´m So Glad, too. Eric Clapton, by he way, has made a beautiful edition of this number

Second part of Sepultura (with Max) playing at the Dutch tv-show called "2 meter sessies" (2 Meter sessions). This was recorded on May 28th 2006.
You can see Sepultura jamming here with a dutch guy called Willem Jansen. He invented this "Afrikit" you see in this movie. It is a drumkit he made himself with all kind of percussion from all over the world and especially Afrika.

What do you get when you combine the lips of Tim Curry, the attitude of Jack Nicholson, and the music of Alice Cooper?
Damned if I know, but this was fun to edit and perform, at least. The best part is the guitar solo at 2:20... the crazy stuff was enjoyable to do.
