SNES Macross - Scrambled Valkyrie |
| If you ever asked me for top shooters on the SNES, Choujikuu Yousai Macross: Scrambled Valkyrie would be one of the first I would mention. If youre familiar with Macross (wich was completly butchered for the US, know as Robotech), then you will not find strange to know that the ship on this game (a variable fighter) can easly switch between 3 modes: Fighter/GERWALK/Battroid. On this particular game, each represents different weapons for each of the 3 available pilots (Rick, Max or Millia). So theres a lot of strategy envolved to switch to each different mode in the correct situation. As if thats not enough to keep you busy, you can also try to turn the Zentradi enemies to your side as well (you will see me do this in the clip). Gorgeous graphics, great gameplay, good sound, what more could you want? Excelent game from Zamuse. I would like to see it released in the west, like many of my favorite SNES games, it never left Japan. Enjoy the clip! |

Used some Cosplay photos I yanked from the net
for the live action Captain Gloval and Claudia.
Dont know who they really are . Used some voice sampling from the new translation of Macross by A.D.Vision. Its a great re-translation....
I just wish they wouldnt add some of these new sound FX. ...like laser sounds from the original "War of the Worlds" Leave the sounds alone!
and the Zentrati...
do not have that cool reverb to their voices
that they are supposed to have... I hope they dont screw up DYRL Macross....by not giving the Zentrati their alien lingo..with reverb...I mean if your going through the trouble to re-translate a great T.V. series and or movie...
and you get the original Japanese actress to be Minmay this time...then do it all right...dont half ass it !! ADV ! I will be pretty upset if they Do DYRL...with added dumb sounds FX...and no reverbed Zentrati.
(Not that you didnt do the series justice...it needed it! Harmony Golds Roboteched version
just aint right) So,Thank You ADV for fixing the translation of the series. bla bla Ill shut up now... |

Alguém se lembra desse desenho? Provavelmente não. Um dos primeiros desenhos animados japoneses que surgiram nas prateleiras das videolocadoras brasileiras na década de 80, Comando Dolbuck é uma série que passou despercebida pelos fãs de animes da época. O desenho não foi para a TV e nem foi comentado pelos otakus. Aliás, os termos "anime" e "otaku" nem existiam ainda. Mas esta esquecida série ganhará um DVD-Box que irá às lojas japonesas em dezembro.
Produzido pelo estúdio Ashi Productions, Comando Dolbuck foi ao ar no Japão em 1983 com o título de Tokusou Kihei Dorvak (Tropa Armada Especial Dorvak). É um trabalho claramente criado na onda do sucesso de robôs transmorfos como Robotech e Transformers -- que aliás faziam um sucesso absurdo na época. |

Interesting little bit of trivia here, DYRL is supposed to be a historical drama from within the macross universe. Its sort of like Pearl Harbour and its a fictional universes attempt to depict an event that was real in that universe.
Also note, that in the movie version, the Macross has RMD1 and RMD2 attatched to its sides as was intended. |

| I was talking to a freind of mine and telling him how much cooler the cartoons were when I was a kid compared to the cartoons from the 90s and today. So that and retrojunk.com inspired me to make this video. The criteria for my top 10 is not the quality of the shows but the quality of the opening intro and Theme song. If it was a top cartoons of the 80s I would have included Robotech, Silverhawks, GI joe you know stuff like that. |

| Recorded with Super Famicom system and capture card.
This is in my Top 10 favorite Super Famicom game list. Macross is one of my favorite animes (Say Robotech and Ill slap the *beep* out of ya! nah j/k), and it spawns out so many great games adapted off the series. Apparently, Macross: SV rips a certain concept straight out of Taitos "Darius" series, in which if you dont press any buttons for a moment, you develop a force field that when Zentraedis get too close, they get brainwashed and join your side, which means more firepower.
Id also like to mention that I love the background in stage 1. The sight of debris and dead men floating in space after their fortress explodes adds to the ambience. |

RoboTrek: The Generation Contact Chronicles |
| Made a little spoof trailer using Robotech: THe Shadow Chronicles and the teaser trailers for Star Trek Generations and First Contact.
I combined both teasers to make a longer trailer so sorry about the "jumP" in the music. I tried to smoothen out the transition a little.
Also, sorry about the quality. I had to encode small. But the DVD footage is 100 times better.
Maybe it was the music, maybe it was the new storyline. I dont know, but it reminded me a lot of Star Trek.
So heres my tribute to both franchises that im a fan of.

Robotech: Crystal Dreams was a simulation-like take on the beloved series, complete with a complex storyline involving characters such as Rick Hunter and Max Sterling. The game, which took place almost entirely inside a cockpit view, featured huge, stretching environments by which players could literally fly from one end of space to the other, and according to Gametek the procedure could take up to six months in real-time. In addition, more than 30 different controllable functions were at the players disposal, models could transform, all sorts of different branching missions were available, as well as a four-player battle mode and more than 40 minutes of in-game speech.
Robotech was originally thought to be a launch title, but it never happened. One year passed and in 1997 Gametek, obviously suffering from serious money troubles, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in order to "re-work and settle internal debts." Financial setbacks would plague Gametek throughout its life, and would eventually capsize the company and its anticipated game.

The new Robotech sequel is now available on DVD in North America from Funimation. Madman Entertainment will release the DVD in Australia on March 14, 2007. The soundtrack CD is now available from Varèse Sarabande Records.

| A fan video I started working on a few years ago based off of a proposed storyline for an N64 Robotech game. My version of the story was that an experimental Super ARMD ship equipped with a fold engine ends up across the galaxy when the fold engine is activated during the initial Zentreadi invasion of Earth. When the ship defolds, the fold engine is damaged, and rendered inoperable for long distance travel. This happens roughly about the same time as the Invid are making serious attempts to conquer the Robotech Masters territory.
I never finished the video, and have since moved on to different things, but I put this up for you to enjoy. |

| Sorry about the video quality. To save on space i had to encode as a low BPS. The video is 100 times better on the dvd itself. Also sorry about the seemingly "laggy" animation. Again, i had to encode a low BPS rate but the video on the dvd is a lot smoother.
My first AMV from robotech: THe shadow chronicles.
The song is "In My Heart" from the Robotech soundtrack.
I wanted this video as a tribute to the underlying love story present in Robotech TSC. Both MarcusxMaia and ScottxAriel.
The first part is about Marcus. How the ppl he held dear to him kept dying in war, leaving him all alone. He tries to seek the company of Maia Sterling. By the end, his love for Maia allows his true courage to shine through.
The 2nd is about Scott and Ariel. A love crossing boundries of species. Such love shows that human and invid CAN live in harmony.
I felt the lyrics fit kinda well. |
