Snail Animation Studio was founded by Flash veteran Wei Feng, who used to work at Showgood.com and produced the famous flash series of "the Caricature of Romance of the Three Kingdoms". Wei Feng eventually left showgood.com in 2003 and worked as the director of animation for E-toon.com. He resigned again in November 2003 and founded his own animation company Snail Animation Studio.
The company decided to take the name snail because they believed that they can gradually progress and become a successful animation company through hard work. The company eventually attracted flash artist Dong Dong, the creator of the popular series Gtman, into the group. Currently, Gtman series become one of the flagship brand of the company.
Other animations created under Snail studio includes "the Caricature for the Journey to the West" and "A Peach Tree". Despite wide acclaim from various artists within the flash animation circle, Snail Animation Studio currently does not generate considerable profits from their works.
