The setting is in France, before and during the French Revolution. The main character is a woman named Oscar Franois de Jarjayes. Her father, General Jarjayes, despaired over never getting a son (he had six daughters), and decided to raise his youngest daughter as a man. He trained her well in the arts of fencing, horsemanship, and medieval combat. Oscar often practiced her skills with her best friend, companion and (technically) servant, Andr Grandier, whom she almost always defeated. Andr was the grandson of her nanny and thus they spent most of their time together in harmonic friendship; near the end of the story, this blossomed into mutual love. There are also some shoujo-ai elements embodied in the relationship between Oscar and her protge Rosalie Lamorlire, the secret daughter of the scheming Madame du Polignac, whose admiration for Oscar may be interpreted as either idol worship or romantic love coming from her possible bisexuality.
Oscar is the commander of the Royal Guard and responsible for the safety of the young, flighty Queen of France, Marie Antoinette, as well as the rest of the royal family. The story revolves around Oscar's growing realization of how France is governed, and the plight of the poor. Another important storyline is the love story between Marie Antoinette and the Swedish Count Axel von Fersen. The affair between the two was the subject of rumors through all of France, endangering the queen's reputation and driving Oscar to request the Count to leave the country. |

This is my first AMV. It took me three days to make the video (and 2 days to make the subtitles X_X) The reason why I chose a Turkish traditional song is just to have some fun basically XP I put the scenes in order so that they fit the lyrics and I provided subtitles so that everyone can understand. This is supposed to be a funny video, so even if I manage to make you smile a little thats a victory for me ^^
Warning: This is an old song. Even I looked up some Turkish words in order to fully understand the song so I can understand if the subtitles dont make much sense. Sorry ^^ I might make changes in them later.
For Turkish-speakers who understand English... I think this will be funnier than the first version XD

The content of the Fanfiction is, that André has left France to join the American Army during the War of Independence. He had suffered too long in France, because of his one-sided love for Oscar.

| I made this video to show the admiration, love and even slight obsessions that both Andre and Marie had for Oscar.
Andre who is a stable hand and Oscar who is of noble blood, arent ever able to marry. Furthermore, as Oscar was raised as a man, she never thinks of being with a man and sees Andres love as simply a deep friendship.
Marie is of course the Queen of France and any sort of playing around is forbidden (even though she has a long love affair with Axel Von Fersen) there is certainly great love between her and Oscar as well.
There are spoilers for the end of the series so if you do not wish to see those, Id recommend you dont watch this AMV... though I hope you do anyway :3 |
