Serial Experiments Lain deals directly with the definition of Reality, which makes its complex plot difficult to summarize.[4] The story is primarily based on the assumption that everything flows from human thought, memory, and consciousness.[5][6] Therefore, events on screen can be considered hallucinations of Lain, of other protagonists, or of Lain fabricating the hallucinations of others.[6] Story misdirection is central to the plotline;[7] even the offscreen voices or narrations' information cannot be considered truthful.[8] The series consists of a cross-reflection of philosophical themes instead of the traditional linear events depiction: episodes are called "layers".
Serial Experiments Lain describes "the Wired" as the sum of human communication networks, created with the telegraph and telephone services, and expanded with the Internet and subsequent networks. The anime assumes that the Wired could be linked to a system that enables unconscious communication between people and machines without physical interface. The storyline introduces such a system with the Schumann resonance, a property of the Earth's magnetic field that theoretically allows for unhindered long distance communications. If such a link was created, the network would become equivalent to Reality as the general consensus of all perceptions and knowledge (see consensus reality). The thin line between what is real and what is possible would then begin to blur. |

More info added:
well... I just relized that I didnt put much info. Anyways, Ive used nothing but clips from the second DVD of Serial Experiments Lain. It was orgranlly soposed to be a trailor but it was turning to be a music video, so I added a music to the audio track and moved some clips, transperent some other clips over other clips, etc.. etc.. etc.. and it turned out pretty good if I do say so myself.
Since I was limited with clips since I couldnt keep the Analog to DV converter box very long, it somewhat limited me but Ive manage and Im proud that Ive actully did this, and without much program.
So enjoy. |

and 2 violas got together in 2005 to perform Duvet. It was made famous by the band Bôa and as the intro song to the anime Serial Experiment Lain.
Its a good arrangement and performance for a school full of ghetto thugs and what not. 4 minutes were cut from the begining because the crowd wouldnt shut up. they didnt shut up DURING also. After that performance the rest of the show continued with fat girls "dancing" to rap......for 2 hours :(

Ok, Ive tried several times to upload this on Myspace Video, but it keeps failing.
This is the video that I created most recently that consists of anime. The anime choice is a little obscure (Serial Experiments Lain), and the band I used isnt well known (Machinae Supremacy), but the song fits perfectly with the anime, as it was written about the show. This video is not as action packed as my others, and it is more focused on lyric sync than anything. I know that this video is not exactly for everyone, due to the fact that there are not many fans out there of SEL, but I still think that I did a pretty good job. I did, however, have to cut the song a bit, and it doesnt flow perfectly, but thats pretty much the only mistake that I made with IMO. ENJOY!!!

Original title, eh? No, but really. Ive been wanting to make a Lain video FOREVER. Its one of my favorite animes ever. I just now got around to it. There arent that many subtitles in this, but there are a few. Still, I think they fit a bit.
(This will probably be confusing for those of you who havent seen this anime. And those of you who have, know its a confusing anime in and of itself. Still, watch it even if you havent seen it. Its kind of trailer-ish, and it might inspire you to go watch an awesome anime)

Seriel Experiments Lain is about a jr. high school girl, Lain. Her friends convince her to start using the Wired (the internet) more after one of their classmates commites suicide and sends them all emails days after.
Lain then becomes a major hacker on The Wired and shes known as a God. Because The Wired is hooked to the real world, Lain has the power to change the world as she wishes.
Its a very complex anime and it takes watching it a few times to really understand it.
I highly recommend watching it. |
