Buhua was born in a family surrounded by artistic atmosphere. Her father was a well-known artist within the art circle. After her father deceased in 1998, she went to Netherland to study art. She came back to Beijing after several years of study and worked for a design company. Unable to adjust to the routinely daily work schedules, she eventually quit her job. She heard about flash at this time and decided to create some works on her own. Her work entitled "A Dream of the mid-summer night" won many acclaim. However, she was most famous for her 5-minute short entitled "Cat", a animation depicting the love between a young cat and his mother. From TV interviews, Buhua later professed that this work was partly incluenced by her emotion after she lost her father in 1998. |
